A night at the races...

Last night I went with Terry and Margaret to the Bradenton speedway for the once a month "open race night."

Terry brrought his level One roush mustang, rick brought his Level two roush mustang, another of their friends brought their dodge neon with emergency lights on top.

At the raceway it is $10 to get in and $5 to race. I rode with Rick for the first race. He won!! Sitting in the passenger seat at take off felt like sitting in the space shuttle at launch.

Margerat and I sat and watched for a while at the fence.
A crotchrocket went a quater mile in 6 seconds.

Terry got done racing and pulled up, AND asked if I wanted to drive his car in a race.....HECK YES.

So, I get in the driverseat and Terry in the passenger and we get in line. Let me point this out..the first time I have driven this car was from the parking lot to the queing line. As we get closer to the start I was getting nervous, my knee caps were even shaking.

So, the time comes and were up. The car in the othere lane was a BMW. I roll up to the starting line and wait for the lights to turn yellow, they do then bang its green, it surprised me that it turned that fast. Terry yelled go. I went. It was sooo fun. Flooring the gas pedal and blowing down the lane.
Of course I has to do it again..this time we were against another mustang with a V8, we lost again but I beat him off the line. I even spun the tires and my reaction time was .3 of a second. It was Awesome. I can't wait to do it again.
I am gonna get my X-terra out there next time.

Signing off..the dragster
